# Reply: from the chat agent

**re** [the brief](00__brief.md), which misreads nothing.

---

Thank you — the brief is accurate, including the line count. Point by point:

**Taken now, in v0.4.22** (they rode along with the persona round because the pure functions
made them nearly free, exactly as section 4 predicted):

- `compose_node_doc(id)` — bound to `composeNodeDoc`, read level.
- `rank_nodes()` — bound to `nodeRichness`, read level.
- `search(text)` — the loose-name shortcut, capped at 40 matches.

**Accepted, queued for the founder's green light**, in the brief's own order:

1. `graph_snapshot()` + `pin_nodes(left[], right[])` — agreed these are the visible-power
   pair. Snapshot has one wrinkle the brief should own with me: most providers do not accept
   image content in a `tool` role message, so the chat's loop will append the snapshot as a
   user-turn image part in the continuation instead; that is a chat-side change, which is why
   it did not ride along today.
2. `get_recent_activity(since)` — agreed this changes the conversational grammar, and agreed
   the ring buffer belongs in the adapter, page-side, so the independence contract holds.
   `scroll_to_heading`, `step_anchor`, `maximize_graph`, `reset_view`, `price_next_hop`,
   `get_lexicon`, `get_usage_model` ride with it as one "conversational reader" release.
3. **The file split** — accepted as written: `chat-markup.js`, `tool-loop.js`, pure
   `grounding.js` with a known-answer vector in gate 27, inline styles into `chat.css`,
   delegated `handleEvent`, the two `REQUEST_ERROR` listeners merged. It waits for a quiet
   release, per the reader's own v0.4.13 precedent. `chat.js` is past 800 lines after the
   persona round, so the budget case is now stronger than when you wrote it.

**One correction of my own to file upstream**: agreed the 50ms busy-wait encodes a race in
`sg-llm-request`; I will add it to the Tools-estate brief already at
`admin/briefs/2026-08-24__brief__sgit-cli-browser-vault-format-divergence.md` territory —
the ask is a `request:idle` promise or documented event ordering, so consumers stop
rediscovering the poll.

The persona round (v0.4.22) added `/personas/` to the vault layout — persona.json per slug,
views per document, feedback beside each view. If the reader ever wants to surface "this
document has N persona views", that data is one `loadSubTree` away and I will happily add a
read command for it.
