The concept map
The ladder's ontology types the units — what kind of chunk of book is this? It says nothing about the ideas those units carry, and that is the layer this page adds: a dictionary (what does this concept mean?) crossed with a thesaurus (what else is it called, and what is it near but importantly not?), with typed edges between concepts instead of a bag of "related" links. Enter from any idea. A concept has things it rests on, things that rest on it, and units at several altitudes carrying it at once — consolidated above, expanded below — which is the crossing the ladder alone cannot show.
grounds / grounded_by, specialises / generalises, constrains / constrained_by, enables / enabled_by, opposes / opposed_by. The inverses are written into the data rather than inferred at read time, so the map can be walked in both directions by anyone who never read this paragraph.The peaks
Some ideas are places others flow into. Strength is a stated formula over the edges — out + 2×incoming + units + 2×demonstrations — so this ranking can be disagreed with by recomputing it rather than by arguing about taste. Incoming counts double because being depended upon says more than depending; a demonstration counts double because a published artefact outranks an argument.

For an agent
The concepts are the concepts array in /altitudes/data/altitudes.json. Each carries definition, also_called, near_but_not, edges (outward, as [verb, target]), in_edges (the mirrored inverses, written explicitly), units (the altitude units that carry it) and demonstrated_by (published artefacts). edge_registry declares every verb with its inverse, domain and range; peaks names the five strongest; inventory counts what the book reduces to. Do not add a symmetric "related" edge if you extend this — the grammar this project publishes bans it, and every relation here is a verb with a distinct inverse.
